 George Marion Rizer, age 81 of Chesterton, passed away on November 10, 2018 at his home. He was born on October 30, 1937 in Porter, IN to Marion and Myrtle Rizer, both of whom preceded him in death.

On October 27, 1960 in Naha, Okinawa, he married Eiko Rizer, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by his children: Mary (Rizer) and Joseph Troke of Alpharetta, GA, Susan Rizer of Valparaiso, IN and Marion and Karin Rizer of Scottsdale, AZ; his grandchildren: Christopher and Brittany Troke of Oceanside, CA, Benjamin Troke of Vancouver, WA, Daniel Troke of Boulder, CO, Khalela El-Naggar lives in Fishers, IN, and Devon Rizer, Jorin Rizer, Tatum Rizer of Scottsdale, AZ; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Eliana Troke of Oceanside, CA; and by his siblings: Bob and Lorrayne Rizer of Chesterton, IN, Larry Rizer of LaPorte, IN and Sue (Rizer) Oaks of Clinton, IN.

George’s greatest passion was taking excellent care of his family. He looked forward to spending time with his brothers, working on projects, and tinkering with anything that had a motor. He was also an avid reader, especially westerns and military thrillers.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

George and i were like brothers we both were in the navy together at Quonset point Ri. for five years and we saw each other off of viet-nam on the Uss Midway air craft carrier. George was on the Midway and i was on the Enterprise i had a chance to take the helo and fly over to the Midway and stay with George over night. George and I have made it to 81years old and now I wait for my time to go on hopefully we will see each other again in the next life
