William (Bill) Burgess Obituary

William A. Burgess, (Bill) age 82 of Westville, IN, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 11, 1939 in New Haven, Connecticut to Alton and Ruth Burgess, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Debra Ray Burgess, of Westville, IN; his children: Emily Murff of Chesterton, IN, Bill Burgess of Wallingford, CT, Paul (Julie) Burgess of Denton, North Carolina, and Mark Olson of Chesterton, IN; his grandchildren: Aiden Murff, Gabriel Murff, Katharine Burgess, Alexa Olson, Madison Olson, and Hunter Olson.

Bill was self-employed as a consultant to the steel mills, paper mills and aluminum mills for many years before he retired.

As a young boy he learned to sail and continued as an adult. While living in Mobile, Al he sailed his boat in many races. He also loved riding motorcycles and camping with his family.
