William Rogers Cahillane

       William Rogers Cahillane, age 74 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025.  He was born on March 24, 1950, in Rockville Centre, NY to Jim and Marilyn (Rogers) Russell. Marilyn later married Thomas Cahillane, all of whom preceded him in death.

       On February 8, 1974, at Our Lady of Sorrows, he married the love of his life, Lee Anne (Denham) Cahillane, who survives in Chesterton, IN.  

       He is also survived by his loving daughters, Sarah Cahillane of Missoula, MT and Jessica Cahillane of Chesterton, IN; his treasured granddaughter, Liah Mauger of Chesterton, IN; his siblings: Jim Cahillane of Valparaiso, IN, Mark (Susan) Cahillane of Rockford, IL, Tom (Mary) Cahillane of Chesterton, IN, Tim Cahillane of Portage, IN, Dan (Kari) Cahillane of Valparaiso, IN, Sue (Sonny) Guess of Valparaiso, IN and Ellen (Scott) Riley of Valparaiso, IN; his lifelong friend, David Reynolds of Portage, IN; and by his many nieces and nephews.

       In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Mike Cahillane.  

       William was a Mechanical Engineer at Cargill for twenty years.  William was an avid reader and especially enjoyed historical literature. He was a fan of all Chicago sports teams and was a die-hard White Sox fan. He loved being outdoors and doing yard work. He also loved traveling with his family and friends.  William will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. 

       No services will be held at this time.
