Thomas Edward Davis, also known as Tommy D. and T.D., age 48 of Porter, passed away on February 17, 2018 at his home, after a 14 month battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. He was born on August 12, 1969 in Valparaiso, IN to Howard and Judy Davis, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 15, 1991, he married Carrie Ann Potter Davis, who survives in Porter. Tom and Carrie were high school sweethearts who had been together for over 32 years. Tom is also survived by his loving children Haley and Adam Davis, also of Porter, Indiana.
Tom was a member of USW Local 1014, putting in almost 22 years at US Steel before retiring in 2018 due to his illness. His passions included spending time with his family, motocross, hunting and fishing. His family was always first priority and he loved them beyond words. Tom was adored by everyone and was a loyal, selfless man who will forever be remembered for his loving heart.
Instead of traditional funeral services, a "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Hawthorne Park Community Center at 500 Ackerman Drive, Porter, IN from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. This service is open to anyone wishing to pay their respects to the family. Memorials may be given to the Chesterton High School Music Department in the name of The Davis Family, 2125 S 11th St, Chesterton, IN 46304.
