Thomas F. Brady III

       Thomas F. Brady III, age 66 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 21, 2025.  He was born on January 7, 1959, in East Chicago, IN to Thomas Francis Brady and Valerie (Romaniak) Brady, both of whom preceded him in death. 

       He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sarah (Cade) Brady; his daughters, Holly (Ricardo) Campos of Euless, TX and Claire Brady (Blake Crossen) of Carmel, IN; his sisters, Barbara (Mike Dobrzeniecki) Austin of Panama City, FL and Nancy Moore (late David) of Indianapolis, IN; and by his nieces and nephews: Valerie and Anna Moore, Tim and Jake Austin, and Will and Rachael Reid.

       In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David.

       Tom was a life-long learner and loved to share his knowledge with others. He received his Bachelors, Masters, and PhD in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. During his 40-year career at Purdue (West Lafayette and Westville), he served as a Professor of engineering and business courses and Dean of Engineering. He also applied his engineering expertise at Bethlehem Steel and as a consultant. He planned to retire this upcoming May. 

        Tom was an avid Purdue basketball and Chicago Cubs fan and was a proud soccer coach for his daughter, Claire’s, soccer team when she was younger.

       He also loved reading, playing the guitar, and the outdoors. Growing up in Long Beach, IN, Tom enjoyed spending time with family at Lake Michigan. 

       He will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend.

       Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 12 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
