Tammy Gildemontes, age 56, of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024. Born on October 22, 1967, in Valparaiso, IN, she was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene Gildemontes and Janet (Fain) Ling, who survives her.
She is survived by her three loving daughters, Anjelita (Jon) Needler of Chesterton, IN, Noelle Best of Texas, and Melanie Cairns (Nick Suprenant) of Chesterton, IN, whom she cherished deeply. She also treasured her grandchildren: Andrew, Jack, Aleida, Grayson, and Camden, who brought immense joy and light to her life.
Tammy was known for her sharp wit, stubborn spirit, and dark sense of humor that could brighten even the toughest situations. A true tech guru and video game lover, she had a knack for all things digital and spent countless hours immersed in gaming. She also loved Stephen King novels, often losing herself in his thrilling, suspenseful worlds. Though she enjoyed the comforts of being a homebody, Tammy was always ready to help anyone in need, while her love of crime TV kept her cautiously aware of the “creepers” in the world.
She is also survived by her siblings, Tracy (Jeffrey) Shields of South Carolina, Tiffany (Dale) Heath of Chesterton, IN, Ryan (Tina) Gildemontes of California, and Alita (Josh) Lacher of North Carolina, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Tammy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Andrew Cratty, whose memory she carried with her every day.
Tammy’s love, humor, and unshakable loyalty will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
There will be a Celebration of Life on October 5th from 3-5pm at Gelsosomo's in Chesterton. Anyone is welcome to join.
