Steven Whybrew, age 63 of Porter, IN, passed away suddenly on August 23, 2024 at his home. He was born on April 14, 1961 in Michigan City, IN to Eugene and Mary (Vessely) Whybrew, both of whom preceded him in death.
On January 11, 2003, he married the love of his life, Cheryl (Pacholke) Whybrew, who survives in Porter. He is also survived by his loving daughters: Samantha (boyfriend Sean) Whybrew of Burns Harbor, IN, Rachel Whybrew of Porter, IN, and Jennifer Whybrew of Porter, IN; his daughters by affection, Maria and Avery; his siblings: Peggy (Tom) Carlson of Beverly Shores, IN, Phil Whybrew of LaPorte, IN and Chris (John) Whybrew of Michigan City, IN; and by his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Julie; and by his sister-in-law, Nancy.
Steve was a longtime volunteer at Beverly Shores Fire Department and the Pines Fire Department. He was also a member of several organizations such as: AOMCI- Antique Outboard Motor Club, MOB- Michiana Outboard Boating Chapter, and NIHPA- Northern Indiana Historical Power Association.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Lakeland Park in Burns Harbor. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service at Lakeland Park.
Memorial donations in honor of Steve may be given to the family.
