Stephen W. Miller, age 59, of Chesterton, IN, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2026. He was born on January 16, 1967, in Valparaiso, IN to John H. and Betty (Kosinski) Miller, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Sharon (Dan) Millington of Delaware, Leonard Miller of Porter, IN, and Michelle (Keith) Janosky of Chesterton, IN; his niece and nephew: Jacqueline (David) Lloyd of Delaware and John (Jenny) Miller of Valparaiso, IN; and by his great-nieces and great-nephew: Madelyn, Macey, Sophia, and Colton.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his aunts and uncles.
Stephen was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, where he volunteered as an usher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Chesterton. He was a store clerk, most recently working in the produce department at Strack and Van Til in Valparaiso for over 20 years. He was very artistic, enjoyed painting, sketching, and fishing with his dad.
He was an action movie buff and spent much of his free time watching movies with his two best friends Jason and Joe.
Stephen was a very good hearted, loving, charitable, and caring individual who would always lend a helping hand and put others needs ahead of his own.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N Calumet Rd, Chesterton, IN, with Father Jon Plavcan officiating. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Chesterton Knights of Columbus P.O. Box 1043 Chesterton IN 46304 or to the Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
