Shirley (Hankey) Banary

       Survivors include: Ray Banary Jr., wife Jamie of Mentor, OH, Lynne Farrell of Chesterton and her husband, Kurt, Jill Bradley Husband Mark of Bartlett IL; half-sister, Billie Jean Hughes of Hawaii; eight grandchildren: Matthew, Kyle and Drew Banary, Tiffany (Tom) Bozovich, Rachel and Nikki Crawford, and Mike and Jordan Bradley; and four great-grandchildren: Lyla and Luke Bozovich, and Emma, and Dylan Szumski.

       The deceased was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Chesterton Woman’s Club and Historical Society.  Shirley always enjoyed watching whatever her family participated in.  She loved to travel and watch the Chicago Bears. She was also an avid bowler for over 30 years and enjoyed going to the National tournament all over the U.S. with fellow bowlers. She enjoyed having lunch with her friends and loved to read. 

       Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 1 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St, Chesterton, IN with Pastor Erich Fickel officiating.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. For the protection of the family and the community, masks are highly recommended when coming into the funeral home. Unfortunately, the funeral home is unable to provide masks to the public. 

       Shirley will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Chesterton Cemetery at a private Graveside Service.  

       In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 106 E 1100 N, Chesterton, IN 46304.
