Rochelle Hawkins, age 65, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on November 10th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Rochelle was a quiet and gentle soul who lived her life with kindness and care. She dedicated more than 30 years of service as a nurse’s aide at Porter Memorial Hospital touching countless lives with her compassion and steady presence.
She was born March 12, 1960, to Charles & Nola Hall who preceded her in death.
Those who knew Rochelle will remember her as a private person with a tender heart—especially for dogs, who always seemed to sense her gentle spirit. She adored her four-legged friends and shared a special bond with her family’s dogs, Abby, Finn, and Joey, who loved their Aunt Rochelle dearly.
Her quiet strength, warmth, and devotion to others will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Rochelle shared an especially close bond with her sister, Karla. Just 11 months apart in age, they were not only sisters but best friends. The two were inseparable throughout their lives—sharing laughter, memories, and a deep, unspoken understanding that only the closest of sisters could know.
On June 5, 1999, Rochelle married Butch Hawkins in Michigan City.
Rochelle is survived by brother Charles Hall Jr., Sister and Best Friend Karla (Ken) Biesboer, Nieces & Nephews; Curtis Fulton, Stephanie Hall (Andy), Nicole (Jason) Moloney, Charles (Ashley) Hall, Alisha Hall, and Tamara Hall. Great -nieces & nephews; Gavin, Taylor, Ben, Alexis, Gage, Dakota, Jared, Shyenne, Iain, Kaiti, Ocean, Brodie, Phoenix and Aunt Barb Brandt who will cherish her memory always.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Butch, Sister Joan Hall-Barbee, nephews; Chad Hall & Joseph Biesboer.
Visitation will be Monday, November 17th, from 2-4 pm at White-Love Funeral home with a service starting at 4:15 pm.
A private graveside service will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter in Rochelle’s honor.
