Robert Dale Fiscus, age 68 of Westville, passed away on June 28, 2016.
He was born on November 1, 1947 in Washington, IN to Virgil N. and Gladys Fiscus, both of whom preceded him in death.
Robert is survived by his siblings: William D. (Ada) Fiscus of Idaville, IN, Alice J. Amstutz of Hart, MI, Patricia (Neil) Charlson of Valparaiso, IN, and Wanda Jo (Randy) Jones of Lancaster, KY; and his nieces and nephews: Steven (Kim) Fiscus, Donna Sue Mayhill, Norman Fiscus, Dan Kolosci, Alicia Marie Charlson, Jonathan Charlson, Dennis (Julie) Scott, David (Amy) Scott, Kenneth Fiscus, Lori Fiscus, Jamie Lee Nicole Fiscus, Kristy Smith, Shelly Smith, Michael Smith and Randi (Chuck) Lyons.
He is also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth L. Fiscus on June 9, 2006, Connie Clark Fiscus in 2009, and by Susan Amstutz in July of 2010, and Janet Amstutz in November of 2014.
Robert went to Epsom Elementary school to fifth grade and then to Jackson Township School. He was a 1966 graduate of Jackson Township High School, where he participated in track, baseball, and basketball. After high school, he was drafted by the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was an electrician for forty years and was a member of the IBEW Local 531, LaPorte, IN. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Odon, Indiana. Robert loved his family and friends and was the past President of the Fiscus Reunion. He loved to garden and play uchre and pinochle with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, and watching movies. Robert was a loving son, brother, friend, uncle, and cousin.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 4 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South Second Street, Chesterton. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 1 p.m. in Odon, IN at the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
