Ramon (Ray) Roman, age 74 of Porter, IN, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. He was born on December 14, 1950, in Gary, IN to Ramon and Karla (Santiago) Roman, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving partner of over thirty years, Renae Taylor of Porter, IN; his treasured daughter, Lauren (Bill) Cain of Chesterton, IN; his cherished grandchildren: Isabelle and Daniel; and by his brother-in-law, Norbert Jakel of Chesterton, IN.
Ray was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed making the ride to Sturgis, South Dakota every year for the bike rally. He also loved classic cars: working on them, talking about them, or just admiring them. He was also proud of his Superman collection. Ray worked as a welder for U.S Steel and Balemaster for many years before he retired, after retirement he began teaching part time as a welding instructor for Ivy Tech. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Ray will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Private Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 5 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
