Ralph E. Gloyeske, age 94 of Chesterton, IN, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 31, 2025. He was born on June 28, 1930, in Chesterton, IN to Theodore and Margaret (O’Connor) Gloyeske, both of whom preceded him in death.
On October 12, 1957, he married the love of his life for 67 years, Mary (Rudolphi) Gloyeske, who survives in Chesterton, IN. He is also survived by his loving children: Mark (Chris) Gloyeske, Clark Gloyeske and Mary Jo (Mark) Brust; his treasured grandchildren: Ivan Gloyeske, Dr. Nika Gloyeske M.D., Amber (Gus) Hultman, Elliott Brust, and Molly Brust; his great-grandsons, Oliver Hultman and baby boy Hultman, who is on the way; his brother, Roy (Carol) Gloyeske; and by his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Bernard and Mary Rudolphi; his brothers, Glen, Owen and Russell; and by his beloved son, Matthew.
Home is where the heart is. For Ralph, the farm is where the heart is. Ralph loved his family, friends and neighbors and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Ralph was a hardworking man. Ralph worked 32 years at Inland Steel as a Roll Turner and farmed until he was 80 years old. His Catholic faith was very important to him. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church his whole life. He was a church usher for more than 50 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N Calumet Rd, Chesterton, IN, with Father Jon Plavcan officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
