Pattie Marie (Lawson) Steen

       Pattie Marie Steen, age 71, of Chesterton, IN, passed away on March 31, 2026, at her home. She was born on October 26, 1954, in Valparaiso, IN to George and Betty (Janoski) Lawson, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       On August 10, 1974, she married the love of her life, Rick Steen, who survives in Chesterton, IN. She is also survived by her loving daughter, Sarah Steen of Chesterton, IN; her sisters, Jan (Norm) Mantel of California and Gege (Tim) Quinn of Missouri; her sister-in-law, Teresa Lawson of Florida; brother-in-law, Conna (Rene) Steen; many nieces, nephews, and godchildren; and by her many fur babies. 

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Mark Lawson. 

       Pattie was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was pro-life and was passionate about helping young mothers and their unborn babies. Her faith was strong, and she was a good woman. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend. 

       A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N Calumet Road, Chesterton, IN, with Father Jon Plavcan officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. 

       Memorial donations may be given to Birthright of NW Indiana, 1/5 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, IN or to any pro-life organization.
