Patrick James (Jim) Long was born in Michigan City, IN to John and Bernice Johnson Long who are both deceased. He married Mary Karen Coffman May 15, 1971. They had one son Scott C. Long (Liz) of Brunswick, MD and one daughter Amanda L. Quinn (Ryan) of Michigan City. Patrick is blessed with two grandsons, Austin Ryan Quinn and Ethan Hunter Quinn of Michigan City. He had two brothers, Thomas and Terry Long, deceased and a sister Cherie all of Chesterton.

Patrick worked at Bethlehem Steel and Arcelor Mittal at Burns Harbor totaling 45 years. Patrick attended First Baptist Church with his family until his health declined. He served on the Chesterton Cemetery Board of Directors. He also served as a medic in the United States Army. After retirement he enjoyed being at home with one of his cats on his lap and enjoying being a grandpa.

There will be no services at this time. A private interment will be at a later date.
