Pamela (Pangburn) Horlacher

       Pamela Horlacher, age 77 of Portage, IN, passed away on January 27, 2025. She was born on November 4, 1947, in Valparaiso, IN to Chester and Ruth (Murray) Pangburn, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       On March 18, 1989, she married the love of her life, Ronald Horlacher, who survives in Portage, IN. She is also survived by her loving daughters: Jennifer (Lonnie) Penrose of Kouts, IN, Julianne (Timothy) Rajski of Portage, IN, and Diana Eagen of Montello, WI; her treasured grandchildren: Brittany Bezotte, Courtney Shepard, Carly Wireman, Austin Handley, and Joanna Eagen; her adoring great-grandchildren: Mia, Savannah, Hailey, Eli, Ellianna, Aaliyah, Arabella, and Bodhi; and by her sisters: Janet Shields of Palestine, IL, Susan Campbell of Westville, IN, and Linda (Wayne) Utterback of Valparaiso, IN. 

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, David Koch, and by her sisters: Jackie Holdren, Janice Coslet, Andrea Lee, and Carole Pangburn.

       Pamela was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was known for her insatiable love of reading and would often be found with her Kindle books about time travel or the Amish. She would get particularly passionate when it came to discussing politics and sharing her convictions with her children. Her wisdom and kindness were as vast as the many countries she traveled to, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. 

       A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W 1100 N, Chesterton, IN.

       In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Pamela may be given to a local no-kill animal shelter.
