Oletha (Gardner) Campbell-Gilbert

       Oletha Campbell-Gilbert, age 92 of Porter, IN, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2023. She was born on February 9, 1931 in Lane, TN to Reps and Mattie (York) Gardner, both of whom preceded her in death.

       She is survived by her loving children: Dickie (Carol) Campbell of Steamboat, CO, Aaron (Paula) Campbell of Chesterton, IN, Shiela (Kevin) Wiesemann of Porter, IN, and William (Chandra) Campbell of Joppa, AL; step-children, Jimmy (Wanda) Gilbert of Freemont, MI, Debbie (late Hank) Riegert of LaPorte, IN, and Brenda (Mark) Trafny of Knox, IN; her 13 grandchildren; and her 15 great-grandchildren. 

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by Billy Joe Campbell on August 13, 1970; Ray Gilbert on April 3, 2018; and by her siblings: Pete Gardner, Hillard Gardner,  Verna Turner, and Juanita Hemphill.

       Oletha was a devoted member of Open Bible Church of Chesterton. She was an Awana leader. She loved working in her flower garden and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

       Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Open Bible Church, 1401 Porter Ave, Chesterton, IN. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.
