Mildred “June” (Pitts) Stowers

       Mildred “June” Stowers, age 92 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 17, 1929 in Gary, IN to Thomas Coy and Margaret (Palko) Pitts, both of whom preceded her in death.
       June is survived by her loving daughters: Terry (Dee) Masterson of Michigan City, Nancy Stowers of Chesterton, Linda Falls (Scott Shelton) of Porter, IN, and Sally (Jim) Weitzel of Valparaiso; her treasured grandchildren: Jennifer, Greg, David, Andy, Jacob, and Adalyn; her adoring great-grandson, Quinn; and by her sister, Barbara Carnes of Denver. 
       She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Stowers in 2001. 
       June was a devoted member of the Duneland Community Church.  Some of her favorite hobbies included gardening, camping, shopping, and reading. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. 
       A private Graveside Service will be held at Angelcrest Cemetery.
