Michelle Marie Vasquez

       Michelle Marie Vasquez, 66 years of age, was born on April 30, 1958 in East Chicago, Indiana. She passed away on November 23, 2024 at Franciscan Health in Michigan City, Indiana from complications of a Heart Cath.

       Michelle is one of five siblings, Alfredo (Guadalupe) Jimenez, Arthur (Martha) Jimenez, Chris Jimenez and Annette (Juan) Castillo. She was a single mother of three: Renee Plascencia Vargas (Michael), Jorge Plascencia and Michael Jimenez; her grandchildren: Symphony Raudry (Julian), Jordan Jimenez, Athena Burton, Phoenixsky Garcia, Michael Jimenez Jr. and Serenityrain Vargas. She is loved by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

       Michelle loved to dance, camp, canoe, hike, travel and practice self-care. Michelle had a strong love for her culture and family.

       Michelle had a strong personality who rarely took nonsense from others and was rumored to participate in a bar fight or two. She was a woman who hustled to survive and did what needed to be done to make her needs met. She had a fiery spirit and occasionally lost her way home from time to time not missing any opportunity to enjoy all that life had to offer. Her contagious smile and loving heart will be missed greatly.

       A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 1 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
