Obituary

       Melvin E. Everett, age 71 of Michigan City, IN, passed away on September 6, 2023. He was born on August 23, 1952 in Michigan City, IN to Clarence and Maudie (Swafford) Everett, both of whom preceded him in death. 

       He is survived by his children: Kelly (Alan Fengya) Everett, Scott (Alyssa Barker) Everett, Lisa Everett, and Christopher (Lori) Everett; and grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kora, Mason,  Kamille, Travis, Leiken, Ronin, Lindsay (Keith), Alexis, Sarah, Nikki and Tony, Anna and CJ, and Aiden and McKaila.

       In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Everett, and his brother, Michael Everett. 

       Melvin loved fishing and golfing. He enjoyed listening to music and playing the drums. He was well-known for his dry sense of humor and extensive knowledge about all things history. He was a firearms enthusiast and enjoyed target shooting. He collected movies and steins and loved his mustang. 

       No services will be held at this time.
