Mary Lucille Davis nee Beckman died on June 11, 2018 at the age of 84. She was born to Edward and Sabena (Berg) Beckman on January 18, 1934 in Gary, IN. She married Jerome F. Davis on November 5, 1955 at St. Marks Church, Gary, IN; who survives. They were married for 62 years.
Children of Lucille Davis are Loretta (Wayne) Davis McKinstry from Springfield, IL, Julie (Ron) Olthoff of Crown Point, IN, Audrey Worthington of Morgantown, Joseph (Cheryl) Davis of Valparaiso, Philip (Lorna) Davis of Spring Grove, IL, Teresa (Frank) McGinley of Valparaiso, and Pauline (Jim) Dravet of Marana, AZ.
Grandchildren are Gregory (Demi) Mikels, Alan Worthington, Colleen (Brandon) Scholes, Carla (Jesse) Edmiston, Sarah (Jon) Davis Reitinger, Michael Davis, Kathleen Davis, Eric (Karrigan) McGinley and Justine McGinley. Step grandchildren are Jennifer (Jim) Soper, Alyssa (Rob) Steven, and Kathleen (John) Lynn.
She is also survived by her brother, James P. Beckman, and sisters Dorothy Pictor, Catherine Ochs and Carolyn Anello, as well as her in laws, Margaret Beckman and Paul Davis, along with many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her brother, John Beckman, her brothers-in-law, Earl Ochs, Bob Pictor, and her sisters-in-law, Donna Beckman and Jane Lamey.
Lucille graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 1952, from St. Mary Mercy School of Nursing in 1955, and graduated from IUN in 1987 with a BA in Psychology. After raising her family, she went back to nursing part-time for 15 years. Lucille was a family historian and a member of NWIGS, Friends of the Westchester Library, The Duneland Stamp Club in Michigan City, IN, Northern Indiana Philatelic Society in South Bend, and a member of APS. Lucille liked to travel, crochet and go to lunch with retirees.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton, IN, with Father Jon Plavcan officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.
A Private Graveside Service will take place at a later date.
