Mary E. (Wineland) Troup

       Mary E. Troup, age 98 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on December 15, 2024, at her home. She was born on July 4, 1926, in McKeesport, PA to Albert Edward and Florence Elizabeth (Hufton) Wineland, both of whom preceded her in death.
       She is survived by her children, Jim “Ji Ji” (Connie Sue) Troup of LaCrosse, IN and Connie Jean (J.D.) McLeroy of Hanna, IN; sister, Delores (late Ron) Erdei; her grandchildren, James A. Troup, John R Troup, Mary Ann Troup Van Weinen, Jacob Marr, David Marr, Charles Troup, Tamala, Sarah Jenkins, and Emily McLeroy; 17 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and by her many loving nieces and nephews.

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert James Troup in 1988; her beloved sons, Charles and Rodney; and by her brothers, Robert and Edward; and by her grandson, Joe M. McLeroy.
       Mary was a member of the Chesterton Moose Lodge 1623 and American Legion Post 170. She worked at the hardware store in Chesterton for many years and was also a postal worker for 17 years.  

        Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 1 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
