Mary H. (Ream) Hill

       Mary H. Hill, age 101 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on July 6, 1924, in Chesterton, IN to Gerald and Agnes Ameling Ream, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       She is survived by her loving children: Sandra Hill of Chesterton, IN, Pat Hill of Waterloo, IL, Nancy Pirri of Chesterton, IN, Anne (Scott) Williams of Hebron, IN, Mary Susan Hill of Chesterton, IN, and Melissa Hill of Chesterton, IN; her 8 treasured grandchildren; and by her 12 adoring great-grandchildren.

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her former husband, Alan; beloved son, Michael; beloved grandson, Patrick Scott; and by her siblings: Kate Brooks, Margaret Boi, Miriam Carlisle, Robert Ream, and William Ream.

       Mary proudly served her country in the United States Navy. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.  She was also an avid reader, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and loved crocheting.  Mary will forever be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

       A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
