Mary Ann (Socha) Drag

Mary Ann Drag, age 75 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on December 23, 2018 in Michigan City, IN.

She was born on May 12, 1943 in East Chicago, IN to John and Anna Socha, both of whom preceded her in death.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving children, George (Lynn) Drag of Chicago, IL and Audrey (Dave Zane) Drag of Michigan City, IN; her siblings, John (Carmella) Socha Jr. of Griffith, IN, Richard Socha of East Chicago, IN and Susan (Ed) Karchinski of St. George, UT; along with her many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Terrence Drag.

Mary Ann was extremely devoted to St. Patrick Catholic Church. At age 14, she left home to go to the convent. After studying to be a nun, she decided to take another path in life, which led her to the love of her life, Terrence. She enjoyed her career at Westchester Library in the Audio and Visual Department for 13 years. She was also a dedicated helper to her daughter, Audrey, at Lake Effect Florals. She was her daughter’s number one fan.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N Calumet Rd, Chesterton, IN.
