Mark Eldon Childress

       Mark Eldon Childress, age 45 of Hebron, IN, passed away due to a farming accident on December 3, 2024.        He was born on July 30, 1979, in Valparaiso, IN to Vernon “Butch” Little Childress Jr., who preceded him in death, and Karen (Kalvaitis) Childress, who survives in Hebron, IN. 

       On May 10, 2014, he married his best friend and love of his life, Katie (Schulatz) Childress, who survives in Hebron, IN.  He is also survived by his adoring son, Eldon Laurence Childress of Hebron, IN; his siblings: Lee (Kelly) Childress, Kristie (Bill) Riffe, Katie (Aaron) Hoffman, and Kyle Childress; his in-laws, Larry and Cathy (Worst) Schulatz; brother-in-law, Carl (Angel) Schulatz; and by many nieces and nephews. 

       In addition to his father, Butch, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Marge Kalvaitis, and by his paternal grandparents, Vernon and Maysie Childress. 

        Mark was a family man through and through. Playing chess with Eldon was one of his favorite pastimes. He and his wife, Katie, had a hobby farm. He loved working on the farm with his wife and son, and they will proudly continue his legacy. He was also an avid fisherman. 

       A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Design Barn, 312 N Madison St, Hebron, IN.

       Memorial donations may be given to Eldon at DeMotte State Bank. Donations can be made at any DeMotte State Bank location.
