Marian Hilda Mullican

       Marian Hilda Mullican, age 83 of Porter, IN, passed away on September 15, 2023. She was born on September 8, 1940 in Gary, IN to Allen Wesley and Helen (Angerer) McKinney, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       On November 2, 1957, she married the love of her life, Robert “Harold” Mullican, who preceded her in death on April 21, 2023. 

       She is survived by her loving son, Paul (Tina) Mullican of Owasso, OK; daughter-in-law, Carri Mullican of Valparaiso, IN; her grandchildren: Cheryl (Rocky), David (Amber), Sharon (Stuart), Brandon (Leslie), Justin, Kelsee; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her sister, Joyce McKinney of St. Petersburg, FL; and lifelong friends, Robert and Christine Grant of Chesterton, IN. 

       In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son; Keith Mullican; and grandson, Aaron Mullican. 

       Marian was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond. Marian taught at Fairhaven Christian Academy as an elementary teacher. She was the captain of the bus route at Fairhaven Baptist Church, and loved visiting children at their homes and joining them on the bus rides to church, where she would lead them in singing and instruction.

       Marian’s home was known in her neighborhood as the place for wonderful birthday parties.

       She performed mission work in England, and she travelled to various places in Ireland, Australia, and across Europe, and had a special passion for London. 

       Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. 

       Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105.
