Linda Byrt Obituary

Linda Byrt passed January 23, 2025, in the comfort of her own home, next to the ones she loved. She was born on May 29, 1947, in Michigan City, IN to Fred and Marjorie (Michaels) Lorenz, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving children, Sean Byrt of Porter, IN and Danita (Mark) Cindric of Chesterton, IN; her treasured grandchildren: Dylan, Vincent, Elizabeth, Isabelle, and Hana; and by her sister, Carole Loniewski of LaPorte, IN.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Vincent; her brother, Michael; and by her sister, Evann.
Linda was a devoted member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Though she is no longer with us, she left an indelible mark in the fabric of the lives she touched. A woman of high spirits and strong will, as a single mother she assiduously raised her three children. Known for her caring nature and charismatic charm she was well loved as a bartender. Although she enjoyed being a bartender, her desire was to go to college to pursue a degree in psychology and art.

As her children took root and grew, her house largely became known for the surfeit of food she was always preparing and providing. Many still reminisce of her cooking to this day. She lived to serve and was nothing but helpful to any and all, most of all her children. When the time came for her to be a grandma she rejoiced in it; she had stories to share with all of her grandchildren as well as games to play, and made time for everyone to feel special. Though she had heartache, with the loss of her mother and premature loss of her eldest son, she always seemed ebullient and rarely showed her grief. Now she is reunited with her mother and son, which is something she’s been desperately awaiting for; may she rest peacefully and those who knew her remember her fondly.

Professional arrangements are entrusted to White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton, IN. Please share your wonderful memories with the family at: www.whitelovefuneralhome.com.

Happy Birthday Linda 1985

Your birthday makes me reminisce

Back to the first warm little kiss

I placed upon a Rose-like face

Already touched by Mary’s Grace

No greater love has touched my heart

Than the love you brought right from the start

By leaps and bounds its growing still

As long as God grants time, it always will

How could a little 7 lb package of love so sweet

Face the hurdles ahead with those two little feet

God placed a little Angel in the Heart Inside

And He said, “Forever Here shall you abide.”

He also said, “Pass along the love which I leave here -

Spread it all around with Kindness and Cheer.”

“To all alike young and old, big and small-

To build Our strength We must love all.”

You haven’t failed it, and love still flows

God sees all and Believe Me He knows

He placed all the love needed

In that little Rose

Don’t ever feel it’s forever rain

In spite of Heartache, Tears and Pain

In the Bible God Has Told

THIS LOVE WILL COME BACK 100 FOLD
