Leslie Ann Hisey, 74 of Chesterton Indiana passed away January 14, 2024 in Indianapolis.
Born December 21, 1949 in Gary IN to the late Jack & Nicole (Vogelgesang) Hisey, Leslie was a force to be reckoned with. She had an infectious laugh that could brighten anyone’s day! A graduate of Bishop Noll Institute in 1968, Leslie then attended Gary Beauty School where she met her very best friend, Debbie, with whom she enjoyed countless meals and adventures. After her career as a beautician, she joined the workforce at Bethlehem Steel where she was a pioneer of her time, going head to head with men in a demanding environment; She enjoyed a long career there, retiring after 27 years.
Leslie loved her family with a fierce passion and you never had to wonder what she was thinking. She was a strong, independent and fearless woman right to the end. She was an avid and talented crocheter and enjoyed making many other crafts for her closest friends and family.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Jason (Heather) Bryner of New Bern NC, Nicole (Dustin) Brown of Indianapolis, IN and Rhonda (Marc) Chavez of Michigan City, IN; her grandchildren: Jakob, Matthew, Tanner, Gavin, Jackson, Abygail, Vincent, Emilie & Jocelyn Anne; and her sister, Jerry O’Keefe of Chesterton, IN; Her best friend Debby Whitacre, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Darrell, her twin daughters and her granddaughter Jocelyn Renee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her favorite local restaurant, Val’s Pizza in Chesterton on Saturday, March 30th, 2024 from 2-5pm.
