Laurie J. McMannes, age 55 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at home surrounded by family. She was born on November 4, 1966 in Gary, IN to Carolyn McMannes.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Joseph Jimenez; aunt, Linda Urbanek; grandmother, Carolyn Welch Mansell; uncle, Robert Welch; and grandfather, James Welch.

She graduated in 1985 from Crown Point Special Education. She attended Opportunity Enterprises for a few years. She did track and basketball in the Special Olympics. She loved to dance, eat cheeseburgers, and listen to Michael Jackson. She also loved Disney Princesses. Her favorite day was her birthday, November 4th, and she made sure everyone knew it.

She is survived by her mother, Carolyn McMannes Jimenez; her sister, Lisa McMannes; her brothers, Daniel Jimenez and James Jimenez; her nieces: Kathleen McMannes, Jennifer McMannes, Angelisa Jimenez, and Mya Bailey; nephew: Dainen Jimenez; great-nephew, Grayson Dumas; cousins: Clinton, Tiffany, and Ian Urbanek, Christopher, Jeanette, Matthew and William Urbanek.

Services will be private.
