Larry E. Stanley, age 79 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2020 in Chesterton, IN. He was born on April 9, 1941 in Rochester, IN to Carl and Pauline Stanley, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 29, 1963, he married the love of his life, Martha (Benson) Stanley, who survives in Valparaiso.
He is also survived by his loving sons: Jeffrey (Kim) Stanley of Sioux City, IA, Steven (Julie) Stanley of Midland, MI, and Terry (Sharon) Stanley of Swedesboro, NJ; his 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and by his siblings: Judy Marks of Elkhart, IN, Rita (Bryan) Black originally of Mesa, AZ, and David (Donna) Stanley of Koontz Lake, IN.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Schenk.
Larry graduated from Indiana University in 1963. He worked at ANCO for 33 years as a Purchasing Agent. Some of Larry’s favorite activities included: playing Horseshoes for Porter Central League and Chesterton League, bowling at Westchester Lanes, playing for the Softball Leagues in Chesterton, and playing morning basketball at the YMCA. His family was his greatest joy! He will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 5 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN with Pastor Kevin Hancock officiating. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation on Monday, July 20, 2020 from 3 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. For the protection of the family and the community, the family kindly requests that masks are mandatory for all who come into the funeral home.
