LaVerne R. (Schrock) Friday

 LaVerne R. Friday, age 94 of The Town of Burns Harbor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Richard and son Raymond of Chesterton. Grandchildren, Eric (Angie) of Niles, Michigan, Adam (Jodie) of Miller (Gary), Amie of Woodland, Texas and Erin of Waco, Texas. Also, a step-granddaughter, Laura (Scott) Horton of Chesterton. Great-grandchildren, Mark, Ryan, Alex, Matthew, and Taylor Friday, and Misty, Haley Chianne and Miscell Horton.

LaVerne was preceded in death by a son, James Michael, her parents, Charles and Emily Schrock and a sister, Ione Banks.

Laverne graduated from Chesterton High School in 1940. She has been a resident of Burns Harbor since 1955. She served on the original Burns Harbor Park Board and has worked in various capacities for the town.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South Second Street, Chesterton, IN with Pastor Erik Bernth officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
