Kathleen “Kathy” A. Mario

       Kathleen “Kathy” A. Mario, age 56 of Porter, IN, passed away on May 27, 2021 in Valparaiso, IN. She was born on October 1, 1964 in Gary, IN to Thomas and Patricia (Brennan) Mario, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       Kathy is survived by her loving partner, Debra Lyle; her children: Kimberly Piornack, Mendalyn (Shawn) Cunningham, and Steven Clark; adoring grandchildren: Jacob and Jarett Piornack, Megan and Ashley Cornett, Abigail Metheny, Audreyana Kennoy, and Ethan Clark; her treasured great-grandchild, Jordan Cornett;  her brother, Thomas “Oscar” (Vicki) Mario; and by her sister-in-law, Cissy Mario. 

       Kathy was also preceded in death by her brother, David Mario and son-in-law, Stephen Piornack. 

       Kathy worked at the Chesterton KMart for several years. She loved camping, going to museums, and collecting unicorns. Her favorite hobby was spending time with her family. She would often be found playing baseball and board games with her grandchildren. 

       The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. Masks are strongly recommended inside the funeral home.
