Karen S. (Scurlock) Johnson

       Karen S. Johnson, age 82 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024. She was born on July 8, 1941 in Centerville, Iowa to Forest and Catherine (Dudek) Scurlock, both of whom preceded her in death.

       She is survived by her loving children: Diana (Kevin) Burgess of Chesterton, IN, Michael (Sheila) Johnson of Goshen, IN, and Paul Johnson of Williamston, SC; her grandchildren: Lindsey Burgess of Chesterton, IN, Jacob (Cassie) Johnson of Belton, SC, and Joel (Keilee) Johnson of Williamston, SC; her great-grandchildren: Tyce Johnson, Evelyn Johnson, and Logan Johnson; and by her siblings, Terry (Kathy) Scurlock and Barbara (Hudon) Goldsmith.

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Johnson; and by her brothers, Richard Scurlock and Dwayne Scurlock. 

       Karen was a devoted member of Real Life Community Church, and she enjoyed volunteering at the resale shop.  She loved traveling, especially taking long weekend trips with her beloved husband, Chuck. She also enjoyed attending Masonic functions with her husband. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

       A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
