Johnny "Rooster" Akers Obituary

Johnny E. Akers “Rooster” age 61 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on November 16, 2023. He was born on January 26, 1962 in Dyersburg, TN to Robert E. Akers, who preceded him in death, and Wanda B. (Surrett) Akers, who survives in Valparaiso, IN.

He is also survived by his loving daughter, Brittany Lee (Donald) Ohmann; stepchildren, Tiffany Petersen and John York; his grandchildren: Lukas Ohmann, Ariyah Ohmann, Summer Petersen, Austin Petersen, Jake Nelson and Bruce Feiffer II; his sisters: Sheila Akers, Barb Akers-Littel and Nancy Akers-Ogrezovich; and by his brother, Terry Akers.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lisa Akers on September 3, 2016; and by his brother Bobby Akers.

Rooster proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 502. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing guitar and was very much a people person. He loved collecting anything having to do with eagles and roosters.
