John Sandor Obituary

John D. Sandor, age 74 of Westville, IN, passed away on June 6, 2024.  He was born on March 3, 1950 in East Chicago, IN to John and Helen (Bajusz) Sandor, both of whom preceded him in death.

On April 8, 1972, he married the love of his life, Susan (Heins) Sandor, who survives in Westville, IN.  He is also survived by his loving children: Jessica Sharp of Chesterton IN and Chris (Tina) Sandor of Mokena, IL; his treasured grandchildren:  Kenzie, Grace, Joseph, and Rose; his siblings Robert (Cindy) Sandor and Patricia (Tim) Biesen, all of Schererville, IN; his many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Purdue University Calumet, John began a career as a foreman at Youngstown Sheet and Tube.  His career took him to several different mills,  and he finished his career as the Blast Furnace Operations Manager at ISG.   His top priorities were his children and grandchildren:  encouraging their educations and supporting their sporting events, vacation roller coaster rides, and other endeavors.  He was also an avid fisherman and hunter, bringing home deer, elk, cougar, brown bear, and black bear trophies.

John was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church.  He will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
