John E. Maximoff, age 84 of Union Pier, MI, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. He was born on January 14, 1942, in Chicago, IL to John and Lillian (Elliott) Maximoff, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving sons, Scott (Reda) Maximoff of Wheatfield, IN and Brett Maximoff of Tinley Park, IL; his treasured grandchildren: Quinton (Loni), Quade, Tyler, Hayley (Phillip), Brandon (Kaylee) and Melissa (Max), and by his adoring great-grandchildren: Emilia, Ivy and Ernest.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan (Bieber), and former spouse, Elizabeth (Jones) who he loved through the years and shared his children with.
John was passionate of classic and muscle cars and enjoyed building his own. His favorite was building his own 1964 Corvette. He worked as a hammer man in steel forging for many years, Salesman, and groundskeeper in retirement. In that time, he made many lifelong friends. He will forever be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Services will be held in private.
