Joan R. (Waters) Pifferitti

       Joan Pifferitti, age 86 of Portage, IN, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2022.  She was born on November 28, 1935 in Grayslake, IL to Charles E. and Bernice Waters, both of whom preceded her in death.  She is survived by her loving children, Desa-Rae Hodge of Portage, IN and Robert A. Pifferitti Jr. of Silver Springs, FL; her 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and by her brother, Chuck (Charlotte) Waters of Los Angeles, CA. 

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Turner, and by her great-grandchildren, Kyanna Otero and Jerray Franklin.

       Joan loved planting flowers and even won two awards for best yard two months in a row in her community. She loved playing bingo, going on day trips, especially to Shipshewana and loved antiquing. 

       Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 3 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Monday.
