Jerry L. Newcomer

       Jerry L. Newcomer, age 75, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on April 24, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1950, in Freeport, IL to Maurice and Ruth (French) Newcomer, both of whom preceded him in death.

       He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara (Zorc) Newcomer of Valparaiso, IN; his loving children: Christy Newcomer of Arkansas and Heidi Veal of Valparaiso, IN; his adoring grandchildren, Samantha (Jacob) Smith and Jacob (Erin) Smith; his brothers: Richard Newcomer, Larry (Sandy) Newcomer, Steve (Lauren) Newcomer, and Harry (Xiuyun) Newcomer; his sisters-in-law, Gloria and Janette; and many nieces and nephews.

       In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Hershel and Dave, and sister-in-law, Marilyn.

       Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was an avid fisherman.  He will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.

       A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Rogers Lakewood Park, 5320 N Campbell St, Valparaiso, IN.
