Jeanette Irene Buzalski, 85, of Porter, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Jeanette was born on November 20, 1939, in Gary, Indiana, to John and Mary Szikora. She graduated from Wheeler High School in 1957. Jeanette married Maurice Buzalski on July 21, 1962, and together they raised three children. She worked at Grant Street Monuments for more than 30 years, where she was known for her dedication and compassion to families.
Outside of work, Jeanette was an avid reader, bowler and fisherman. She was a board member of the Monument Builders of North America. She enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Ireland and Europe and loved her annual fishing trips to Wisconsin. Jeanette enjoyed continuing the Christmas tradition of baking nut rolls and bobalki with family.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Toni Beaver, Viki (Gary) Gorman, and Alan (Jennifer) Buzalski; grandchildren, Billy (Taylor) Beaver, Ryan (Christina) Gorman, Lindsay (Jack) Fiebig; great-grandchildren Stetson Beaver, Patrick & Quinn Fiebig, and one on the way; sister Marilyn Rosenbaum; brother Jerry (Sue) Szikora; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister Elaine Hefner.
Visitation will be held at White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton, Indiana on Thursday, August 21st from 3pm-8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 22nd at 10 am at St. Patrick’s Parish, Chesterton, Indiana. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the VNA Hospice NWI or the Westchester Neighbors Food Pantry.
