James Johnson Obituary
James Warren Johnson, age 86 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on October 26, 2020. He was born on September 25, 1934 in La Salle, IL to William and Helen (Gaede) Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death.
On April 29, 1972 in Gary, IN, he married the love of his life, Margaret A. (Kellner) Johnson, who survives in Chesterton. He is also survived by his loving sons, James W. Johnson, Jr. of Chesterton, IN and Eric M. (Julie) Johnson of Porter, IN; his grandsons: Patrick Johnson, Austin Stickler, Dylan Johnson, and Rhys Johnson; his great-granddaughter, Ava Johnson; and by his brother, William (Fran) Johnson.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army in Verdun, France from 1957-1959, and retired from Bethlehem Steel after dedicating 36 years in the # 1 roll shop.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 10 a.m. at White-Love Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family in Jim's honor. White-Love Funeral Home 525 S 2nd St, Chesterton, IN 46304 will accept contributions by mail or in person.
