James David Coburn

       James David Coburn, age 62 of Portage, IN, passed away on June 22, 2022.  He was born on March 12, 1960 in Gary, IN to James Donald Coburn, who preceded him in death and Donna (Foster) Coburn, who survives in Chesterton, IN.

       He is survived by his brothers, Steve (Kristin) Coburn of Chesterton, IN and Richard (Kathy) Coburn of Osseo, MI; his niece, Kassondra (Casey) Schavey of Chesterton, IN and nephew, Richy Coburn of Osseo, MI; his great nephew, Carter Schavey; his many cousins who were like siblings to him and their children, of whom he considered his nieces and nephews; his many friends; and by his beloved cat, Buddy.

       In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his nephew, Matthew Coburn.

       James was employed by the Portage Street Department for many years. He loved watching the NCAA basketball tournament and watching golf on television.  He also enjoyed going fishing and shooting pool. He was an avid Andy Griffith Show fan.
 

       James was a loving and devoted caregiver for his Mother until the time of his illness.

       No services will be held at this time.
