Irene S. Zurawski

       Irene S. Zurawski, age 97 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2021. She was born on February 17, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Maria (Wojtula) Winiarski, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       On June 30, 1945, she married the love of her life, Valentine Zurawski, who preceded her in death in 1998.

       Irene is survived by her loving daughter, Christine Rehak of Valparaiso, IN; her four treasured grandchildren; her nine adoring great-grandchildren; her two great-great grandchildren; and by her many nieces and nephews. 

       She was also preceded in death by her eight siblings. 

       Irene was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Church in Palos Hills, Illinois.  She was very active in the Ladies League, the Fun Club, New Horizons and the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a Eucharistic Minister for 28 years. 

       A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N Calumet Road, Chesterton, IN with Father Jon Plavcan officiating.  The family will receive friends from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Friday at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.  A private Graveside Service will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

       Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
