Inez (Westergren) Zane

       Inez Zane, age 94 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on October 9, 2024.  She was born on June 24, 1930 in McCool Junction, NE to Harry and Grace (Crouse) Westergren, both of whom preceded her in death.

       She is survived by her loving children: Lonnie (Vicky) Hunter of Florida, Wanda Hunter of Chesterton, IN, Kevin (late Joelin) Hunter of Chesterton, IN, and Pamela (late Phillip) Autrey of Portage, IN; her grandchildren: Dane Lafata, Evan Lafata, Ciara Lafata, Amanda Autrey, Kyle Autrey, Sara Camp, Stacy Biscello, Nathan Autrey, and Robin Jackman (Thomas); her great-grandchildren: Charis, Athena, Mara, Jeannie, Chase, Blake, Hunter, Ryker, Grace, Kylor, Ashlyn, Jaxson, Lucas, Emma, Victoria , Jessica, Alex, and Ethan; her sister, Phyllis (Dewey) Ward of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. 

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Zane, and her son, Keith Hunter. 

       Inez was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Chesterton. She was the secretary for the Retirees Club for Midwest Steel. She worked for her daughter, Wanda, for many years in her tax office. She was also a member of the senior’s club in Porter.

       Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at noon at Saint Paul Lutheran Church,106 E 1100 N, Chesterton, IN with Rev Erich Fickel officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. 

       Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
