Geraldine C. (Danch) Wasz

       Geraldine C. Wasz, age 80, of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025.  She was born on December 12, 1944, in Gary, IN to Julius and Gizella (Christy) Danch, both of whom preceded her in death.

       On June 18, 1966, she married the love of her life, Richard G. Wasz, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Kirsten Springman; and by her sisters: Fran, Lee, Trudy, and Evelyn.

       She is survived by her loving children: Robert “Steve” (Michelle) Wasz of Portage, IN,  Richard “Eric” (Christine) Wasz of Valparaiso, IN, Amy Wasz of South Bend, IN, Kelly (Steve Toosevich) Wasz of Portage, IN, Erin (Richard James) Wasz of Chesterton, IN; her adoring grandchildren: Lyssa, Jeremy, Sydney, Brandon, Amber, Jacob, Kevin, Andrew, Nick, Alex, Adam, Abby, Ian, Jason, and Austin; her treasured great-grandchildren: Symphony, Zyler, and Haizley; her sister, Barb (late Larry) Lark; and by her buddy the miniature schnauzer, Schnitzel. 

       Geraldine was a hairstylist by trade and worked at Ruge Catering for many years. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was often a big winner.  She was blessed to have many friends through the American Legion Post 150.  She loved her family with all her heart and will be sorely missed.

       Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN, with Father Jon Plavcan officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
