Fred Shamon

       Fred M. Shamon entered into heaven on November 20, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1946, to George and Lee Shamon of Davenport, Iowa.
       Fred married the love of his life, Linda Mead Shamon, in 1967. They have a daughter, Kim Norem of Saint Joseph, Illinois, and a son, Chad Shamon of Chesterton, Indiana. He also has three grandchildren: Austin, age 26, Alivia, age 23, and Carson, age 15.
       Fred was an avid golfer, and he played in a lot of proams throughout his life. Boating, motorcycles, and race cars were big passions of his as well. He was the proud owner of Hawkeye Bev. INC. in Clinton, Iowa and Dubuque, Iowa. He was a contributor to the University of Iowa basketball and football teams and had the pleasure of sitting with Hayden Fry at a charity event.

       Fred was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lee Shamon; his brother, Terry Shamon; and sisters, Penne Sunleaf and Nancy Kaplan.

       Fred was a kind, well-liked and well-rounded individual.  He was trustworthy and was always willing to help anyone in need.  There wasn’t a person he wouldn’t talk to or say hello to.  He lived his life to the fullest. 

       Memorial contributions in honor of Fred can be given to The Clinton Humane Society, 1473 Main Ave, Clinton, IA 52732.
