Evelyn C. (Manning) Sanders

       Evelyn C. Sanders, age 70 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her home.  She was born on November 30, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Charles DeForest Manning, who preceded her in death and Mary Jane (Suffern) Manning, who survives in Florida.

       On July 1, 1972, she married the love of her life, Eddie Sanders, who survives in Chesterton, IN. She is also survived by her daughters: Evelyn Therese Sanders of Mississippi, Mary Catherine Sanders of Florida, Deborah Ann Sanders of Florida, and Pamela Rose Sanders of Florida; her siblings: Ellen, Deborah, Ann, Bernadette, Charles, Kathleen, Maureen, Shawn, Colleen, and John; as well as, many nieces and nephews. 

       In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her siblings: Timothy, Mary, and Phillip.

       Evelyn was a 42-year devoted member of Fairhaven Baptist Church.  She loved singing and loved the children of the church. She called them all her munchkins. Over the years she sang in choir, helped on a bus that brought children to church, served in Jolly 60's, and also enjoyed working in her toddler class every Sunday morning.

       Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 9:45a.m. to 10:30a.m. at Fairhaven Baptist Church, 86 E Oak Hill Rd, Chesterton, IN.  Funeral Services will follow at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
