Eva (Miller) Swoverland

       Eva Swoverland, age 90 of LaPorte, IN, formerly of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022.  She was born on July 17, 1932 in Lockport, IN to Paul Aaron Miller and Irene Temple Miller, both of whom preceded her in death.  
       She is survived by her loving children: Cynthia Johnston of Florida, Joseph (Beth) Johnston of Michigan, Julia (Patrick) Walsh of Chesterton, IN, Steven (Jenine) Johnston of Maine, and Katrina (Chris) Carpenter of LaPorte, IN; her 13 grandchildren; and her 9 great-grandchildren.  
       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Johnston; her second husband, Donald Swoverland, on August 13, 2022; and by her siblings: Robert Miller, Richard Miller, and Rosemary Loveless.
       Eva loved needle crafting, flower gardening, and making delicious meals for her family. Her years serving as a hospice volunteer and home healthcare worker were very fulfilling and personally rewarding.
       Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 1 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
