Enafaye (Amburgey) Messer

       Enafaye Messer, age 91 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on June 4, 2022. She was born on August 28, 1930 in Possum Trot, KY to Henry and Hattie (Sloan) Amburgey, both of whom preceded her in death.

       On August 17, 1949 she married the love of her life, Herman Messer, who preceded her in death on June 16, 1996.

       Enafaye is survived by her children: Pamela (Raymond) Zakrzewski of Chesterton, IN, Larry Wayne (Debbie) Messer of Porter, IN, Barry Damon (Martha) Messer of Chesterton, IN, Bernetta (John) Praschak of Michigan City, IN, and Michael Herman (Kim) Messer of Chesterton, IN; her 8 grandchildren; and by her 10 great-grandchildren.

       In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her 6 siblings and by her grandson, Michael Brandon Messer.

       Enafaye was a faithful member of Liberty Bible Church. She enjoyed crocheting and shopping at resale shops. She also loved gambling at casinos and eating at McDonald’s.

       Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 12 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
