Edwin John Frederici

       Edwin John Frederici, age 90 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on May 20, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Edwin and Ella (Carlson) Frederici, both of whom preceded him in death.

       On June 23, 1951, he married the love of his life, Gloria (Loehrke) Frederici, who preceded him in death in 2013.

       He is survived by his loving children: Diane Frederici, Sue Tshishiku, Joy (Greg) Gallagher, Beth (Brian) Braaksma, David (Maggie) Frederici, and Edwin (Kim) Frederici; his grandchildren: Ben Braaksma, Bena Tshishiku, Khadi Tshishiku, Emma Frederici, and Harper Frederici; and by his siblings: Evelyn (Edward) Lopez, Ray (Dione) Frederici, and Ron Frederici.

       Edwin proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a devoted member of Liberty Bible Church and a member of the Woodchucks Woodworkers Club. He also participated in Indian Guides Program with his sons. Edwin was dedicated to providing his family with enriching life experiences.  He believed in and lived out the values of independence and hard work beginning as a young boy with a paper route and continuing throughout the rest of his life. He began his career as a machinist and retired as an assistant superintendent at the Midwest Steel Division of the National Steel Corporation.

       Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Liberty Bible Church, 824 N Calumet Ave, Chesterton, IN with Pastor Darrell Crots officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. Professional arrangements are entrusted to the White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton, IN. For the protection of the family and the community, the family kindly requests that masks are mandatory for all who attend the Funeral Service and Graveside Service.  The family will provide masks for those who need them.
