As a teen, Deloris spent one summer waitressing at Winona Lake and was very proud to recall that she waited on the composer of the song The old rugged Cross. For many years, she was a kindergarten department superintendent in Sunday School and was famous for her story about Mrs. Red Bird. She was active in Extension Homemakers most of her life and at one time served as County president of Extension Homemakers. She was also a devoted volunteer at the Chesterton Resale Shop for several years.
Deloris was a strong Christian and attended CrossPointe Christian Church for many years. She loved traveling to Arizona with her husband. After his passing, she enjoyed many trips with her lady friends. She will forever be remembered for her amazing baking skills, and she was especially famous for her pies and chocolate cake. We are comforted that Deloris is in her heavenly home with her Savior.
